This course is entitled, Distance Technologies. At the onset, I, like many of those in Cohort 5, began to get busy reading the historical advancements made in technology. Never considered a pencil as an "emerging technology" but I guess it was during that era (chuckle, chuckle). It is interesting that an operational definition for "emerging technologies" was not available according to Veletsianos (2010). Much discussion was generated in the course discussion board about the role of technology in education as a whole. Does technology drive education? Hmmm
